Hello everyone..Im new to the honda scene, wanted

Anywho, My name is Michael and I just purchased an 89 Civic sedan DX automatic. This is the first Honda I have ver owned. I have 2 Pontiac Fiero's which I have loved for who knows how many years. So while the one Fiero is on the rack (installing s/c 3800) I got the Honda cause it was clean and WELL maintaned. (88k miles) I have been looking at alot of stuff the these cars but have hit a brick wall. I see all sorts of stuff for the CRX and the Si but not alot for the DX. I know its the baby engine and all. Was wondering whats the differences in the front parts of the CRX, Si and the DX?
Ive seen some sweet front bumper covers and all sorts for the CRX and the Si. Will they interchange or do I need to find DX specific stuff?

If you are looking for body kits etc. Just make sure to look for the 88-89 kits. the trim level doesn't matter its the year its made. Engine parts are another matter. I have a dx with intake exhuast headers pulleys. All fit fine except for the intake. Still fits but sits a little funny. If you want more speed the dx engine and tranny kinda suck. I would save up for a zc or b16a swap. Anyways good luck and welcome...

first off you have me confused. if you have a sedan (4 door) then why are you asking about a CRX? that is like comparing milk to water.

i can tell you this much:

DX:
1.5L engine
less attractive interior

Si:
1.6 engine
shorter geared tranny
electric sunroof
better interior

I have heard the 4 door EX has the Si engine and power windows and locks. But I have never owned one. I have only owned 88-91 Si & DX hatches.

I know the engines are way different, the reason I asked about the CRX when I have a DX is about body mods. Is the front of the DX the same (or close) to the CRX? As in hoods and stuff thats listed for the CRX but not the DX. Projection lights, hoods and front clips. Thats the main reason. Someday I may do an ls with 5-speed swap...

i have a friend with a heavily modded 4 door. i can tell you the CRX bumper will not just bolt on. not much of anything exterior will bolt up.

this is why i say it's like comparing water to milk. they are both liquid but, opposite types. CRX & 4 door are both 4th Gen (and look almost alike) but they are complete opposites.

you're better of trying to fit hatch things on a 4 door than CRX.

sorry to say but, there isn't much aftermarket things for the 4 door. however, i can say some bomb diggity 4 doors have been popping up lately. i think it comes down to the all-mighty $$$

I have seen a few nice looking ones. I wish I could have gotten a HB but at the time ( Other car I cracked the block) this was avaialble and not to bad of a car for 2k. I wont do alot to this one, just make it look ok and have it a tad more pep. Then maybe a HB down the road. Anywho, thanx for the input and ill be asking more down the road.
